Gay played for the Memphis Grizzlies during 2006-2012 as well as the Toronto Raptors in 2013. In the 2006 NBA draft, Gay was chosen number 8 in round 1 by the Houston Rockets. Gay played basketball in college with Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball (2004-2006) and started playing professionally in 2006. In high school, Rudy Gay played basketball for, Eastern Technical High School (Essex, Maryland), and Archbishop Spalding High School (Severn, Maryland).
